(Nov. 18, 2009) - As state tax collections continue to decline, the University System of Georgia (USG) Board of Regents has approved plans for additional reductions to the system’s 35 public colleges and universities and an increase in the mandatory student fee.
Nov. 10, 2009 – North Georgia College & State University claimed the top prize on Nov. 7 in the inaugural U.S. Army Cadet Command Bold Leader Challenge, an event that pitted teams from the nation’s six senior military colleges in a 15-mile military skills competition that tested physical endurance and teamwork.
(Nov. 6, 2009) -- North Georgia’s campus will take on an international flavor Nov. 16-20, as the university’s Center for Global Engagement sponsors activities to heighten awareness of the campus’ diverse cultural community and study abroad opportunities.
(Oct. 26, 2009) - Dr. Zachary Karabell, a renowned author, economic analyst and political historian will speak on myths and facts regarding linkage between the Chinese and American economies in a special campus presentation on Nov. 5, at 7 p.m., in the auditorium of the Health and Natural Sciences building.
(Oct. 15, 2009) -In a historic event for North Georgia College & State University, the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia met at the school’s campus in Dahlonega Oct. 13 and 14.
(Oct. 8, 2009) - On Oct. 13 and 14, North Georgia College & State University will host the Board of Regents for its October meeting. The Board of Regents is the governing body that oversees the state’s 35 public colleges and universities.
(Sept. 23, 2009) — In the U.S. Army’s just released National Order of Merit List, North Georgia College & State University is the nation’s top-performing senior military college. Of the country’s 4,702 cadets ranked on this year’s list, six North Georgia cadets placed in the top 10 percent. Cadet Jessica Carlock, commander of Foxtrot Company, at number seven on the list, is the top-ranked cadet from North Georgia.
(Sept. 30, 2009) — Ashlie Shrewsbury didn’t set out to make history when she entered North Georgia College & State University, but she has become the first female leader of school’s Corps of Cadets.
(Aug. 28, 2009) – North Georgia College & State University, like all schools across the country, is addressing health concerns regarding flu outbreaks on their campuses. At North Georgia, there have been 13 cases of students with flu-like symptoms who have reported to Student Health Services, the primary point of contact for all students who are not feeling well.
